COVID-19 Update from LPLC23 March, 2020
Like all law practices, LPLC is responding to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic with the utmost thought to the health and safety of our staff, insured practitioners and the community at large.
LPLC has not had any COVID-19 notifications, but in line with government advice and sound practice, our staff have moved to a mix of remote and in-office working arrangements to help minimise risks for them and ensure ongoing services for our insured law practices.
We want to reassure you that LPLC’s business remains open and available to support practitioners.
Insurance applications and renewals
There is no change to our insurance services.
- Practitioners seeking new insurance can continue to do so by downloading the application form from this website and emailing it to LPLC, or by phone enquiry to LPLC.
- Our staff are continuing to respond to other insurance queries in the usual way by phone and email.
- LPLC’s online portal for renewals of insurance for the 2020/21 policy year will open in early April and all firms will soon receive information about renewals.
Claims and notifications
Our Claims Solicitors continue to be available by phone or email to receive and respond to new claims and circumstances that need to be notified to LPLC, as well as continuing to manage existing matters.
Our external Panel Solicitors remain available for expert legal assistance in responding to any claims or threatened claims.
Risk management services
Our phone advice service for immediate risk-related queries remains open and fully operational.
Until further notice we have suspended face-to-face delivery of our risk management seminars, workshops and other external speaking engagements. For such time as the COVID-19 pandemic impacts our preferred ‘in-person’ delivery of these events, we will develop other ways to deliver the learning opportunities these provide.
‘In person’ visits to individual law practices by our Risk Managers are now suspended until we can safely resume this popular program. Until then we will find ways to replace these visits with phone contact or via online digital platforms.
LPLC will continue to produce our regular articles and bulletins in relation to the management of professional risk for practitioners.
We also remind practitioners of the substantial library of resources, including previous seminar recordings and other audio-visual resources available on our website for practitioners to access free of charge.
We hope all our stakeholders stay safe and healthy and wish everyone well in these very uncertain times.
